Become a consultant TODAY!

MBECA is consistently searching for new consultants to participate in its programming. Clients may either select a consultant or MBECA can refer from its Approved CRA (Certified Registered Agent) Consultant Pool to interested clients.

To become an MBECA Certified Consultant, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be certified and have a current Annual Report with the Louisiana Secretary of State as an Incorporated Business.
  • Must supply an Articles of Organization.
  • Must complete and submit a current W-9.
  • Must provide a DUNS number.
  • Must not be in poor standing with any State of Louisiana Department, MBECA, or any of its affiliates.
  • Must sign a statement guaranteeing Equal Opportunity Employment and non Discrimination Policy.
  • Must provide samples of demonstrated work in the area of performance.
  • Must provide a resume (personal or business) to demonstrate years of service.
  • Conduct and pass an interview with MBECA Staff to review application package.
  • Must certify that funds may be distributed after project completion. Payment plans cannot be setup with MBECA prior to completion.
  • In order to start work, a dated and sign estimate must be presented to MBECA with an attached timeline of all work completed to be approved by MBECA prior to work beginning. No work may begin prior to authorization. Any work completed prior to authorization will not be funded.
  • Upon completion of work, a “Satisfactory Work Completed Certification” must be signed and submitted by both the consultant and the client.
  • Payment will be rendered within 45 days after work completed.
  • Consultant agrees to hold MBECA harmless of all contractual agreements with between the Consultant and Client AND no work outside of the approved estimate may begin until after the entire project (as stated in the estimate) is completed.
  • Credit card, ACH, and other forms of payment to consultants MAY be processed, but a processing fee equal to the amount of the fee paid to the processing provider will be assessed.

MBECA nor does the State of Louisiana allow for more than three projects per fiscal year per consultant to be funded through the SEBD Program.
